THE ORIGINAL 17TH CENTURY HOUSE had been altered and added to over the course of many generations. With the arrival of a new family, the decision was made to save what was historically sensitive from various eras of the past and to make a thorough renewal of the structures and systems that had outlived their utility. The result, largely through the innovative initiative of the owner, an accomplished interior designer, is a home blending old and new, traditional details and materials with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic. The home reflects both the history of this local landmark horse farm and luxurious modern living in a family home.
