Sunny High Residence
Wayne
SUNNY HIGH, the 1902 arts and crafts inspired tudor home designed by Francis Gugert, was purchased by a young family wanting the character of an old Main Line Philadelphia home along with the ease and function of a modern home. To that end, the program included the general restoration and upgrades as well as an exploration of the meaning and use of spaces and a reinterpretation of the house as a home for the 21st century. Working closely with the builder, interior designer, and landscape designer, a unified sense of home was created that was at once unchanged from the feeling of 1902 elegance and pre-war optimism, and yet full of innovative interpretation of how we live today.
