Sports Court Pavilion

COMMANDING A VIEW of a multi-sport court, this timber frame pavilion provides an ideal relaxed setting for a family of sport enthusiasts. While the family regularly engages in games of tennis, kick ball, basketball and roller hockey, the cozy fireplace, infrared heaters and ability to freeze the 7,500 SF post-tension concrete system court into an ice rink during winter delivers four seasons of enjoyment. The 1,000 SF pavilion, in addition to an outdoor living room-style seating area, includes a court-level kitchenette, lavatory and equipment storage area accessed by custom cedar sliding doors designed to shield the lower level from bad weather and water infiltration. The lower portion and court walls are constructed of mica schist, which pays homage to the same stone used at the existing residence, and Indiana limestone. The upper, timber frame portion of the pavilion is a traditional western red cedar – selected for aesthetic reasons as well as for durability.
