Rocky Hill Barn
THE BROAD ACREAGE of this Chadds Ford site called for a large, simple gesture to complete the spirit of a farm compound with the lines and colors of a Wyeth landscape. Using a dark color range of wood, stone, and bronze roof, the barn becomes a serene backdrop for farm activity rather than a focal point itself.
The lower level is a fully-equipped horse barn with equipment storage and farm office in the courtyard wings. The Barn Loft houses the playful outpouring of the owners wonderfully eclectic collections of everything from 18th century hardware to mid-century modern lighting, and serves as a Party Barn for regular multi-generational gatherings.
