Owl House
The Delaware Museum of Natural History
THE DELAWARE MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY (DMNH) strives to develop exhibits that connect the past with the present and the specimens in their collections with living animals and their habitats. The proposed Owl House and Aviary does just that through demonstrations, observations of many varieties of owl, and with hands-on activities guided by guest scientists and museum staff. The Owl House provides space for the care and housing of these birds of prey, as well as space for watching and for taking part in activities and a screened “flyway” for the owls and their handlers. The Owl House additionally provides outdoor fly areas and will connect to the Museum’s walking trail.
