Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds Stable
Unionville
REDEVELOPMENT OF THE HISTORIC barn site for the Cheshire Hunt Conservancy delivered a facility to meet the modern stable needs for “Mr. Stewart’s Cheshire Foxhounds.” Durable materials and thoughtful proportions create a peaceful 14-stall home for the Cheshire Hunt staff horses with two wash stalls, tack room, equipment bays and hay & straw storage above. The new barn links the adjacent Boarding House and Cheshire House to make a working courtyard. With the improved stable, the CHC realized a 50% reduction in horse-care costs over the previous facility from the 1920’s, and simplified the management of the property in every respect.
