Kohelet Yeshiva Lab School
Merion Station
THE KOHELET YESHIVA LAB SCHOOL (KYLS) provides a K-8 curriculum to complement the existing 9-12 High School. A “progressive conservative” private Jewish day school, KYLS integrates an experience-based learning pedagogy with deep immersion in Judaic studies. Focused on hands-on learning experiences, group and collaborative project assignments and intense use of technology, the educational environment is composed of large, open, multi-grade classrooms supported by small group instruction spaces and learning commons. The middle school curriculum revolves around three primary spaces: the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) Lab, the humanities center, and the Beit Midrash (space dedicated to religious education and prayer). The 34,800 SF facility also includes a cafeteria, administrative spaces, dedicated teacher “headquarters” embedded in the learning spaces, and spacious corridors and stairs for social interaction and the display of the children’s work.
