Blue Dog Farm

Willistown, PA

This reconstruction and reutilization of a 130-year-old barn was designed as living space on a 43-acre horse farm in Willistown, Pennsylvania.  At the start, significant rot was found at 90% of the base of the barn frame.  An old barn frame discovered in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania was disassembled and reassembled on stonewalls at the existing location.  The original corn crib was partially removed and replaced with a sitting deck at the back of the barn with steps leading to the original stone barnyard, which will become an enclosed swimming pool.  Reclaimed barn materials were used throughout the interior for cabinetry, railings and stairs to the loft.
